About
My name is Crystal, but for most of the past seven years I’ve been known as Ms. Crystal. I’ve been working in education since 2005, and most of that time has been spent in early childhood education. I love working with young kids, and seeing the passion they have for learning new things. The importance of early childhood education took on a new meaning for me in 2009, when I gave birth to my first son. My second little boy followed in 2010, and now I am literally reading children’s books every day (and I love it!). Books were my first love, and reading is still one of my favorite things to do.
I also love to write. In addition to It’s Fundamental, I blog at Mom For Less, where I share my tips for moms who want to save their money, time, and sanity. I’m also a Contributing Writer at Prime Parents’ Club, pretty much the best parenting website around.
It’s Fundamental features primarily children’s book reviews and news, but also includes the occasional “grown-up” book review and maybe even a movie review or two. If you are an author or publisher who would like me to review your book, or if you just want to know my opinion on a particular piece of literature, don’t hesitate to contact me. You can also connect with It’s Fundamental on Facebook and Twitter.
My all-time favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird, and my favorite book to read with kids is The Jolly Postman. My oldest son loves reading The ESV Illustrated Family Bible and Baby Dear. My youngest loves Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? My husband’s favorite book is probably something about sports. We live in the beautiful city of Indianapolis, Indiana with our two stinky dogs.
